Moving house but staying in school??

Hello :)
We've just been told we have to move out of our rented accommodation because our landlady wants to sell. My children are just about to start at the local school. Does anyone know what we do if we can't find a house near to where we are? How far away can we go and still keep them in the same school if we're prepared to travel to it? I have no idea how these things work! Thanks.

Once you are in you are in - you are in, as long as you can get there off your own back every day on time.

I'd try and stay close for your own convenience and so kids can play easily with friends easily after school. But no you won't lose you place once you've got it. Outside chance the school may investigate this is a genuine move if oversubscribed school but you should be able to show that :)

You can live anywhere you want as long as you can get your child there on time each day.

We're moving out of London next year, but keeping DD at school in London and she will commute with us. It will mean extra effort on our part at weekends and holidays for parties/play-dates etc, but she goes to after-school club anyway so no time for play-dates during term-time.

The local school where we are moving doesn't begin to compare, so an hours commute each way is worth it to keep her with her friends and all the benefits of a London school. As it is, we have a near 40 minute commute each way by bus with the ghastly London traffic at rush-hour.
