PE pumps?

How many people's DC need these and how many are optional/not required?

DD is going into year 5 and this year apparently they are "optional" for indoor PE - what should I do? Don't want unnecessary expense but don't want her to be left out either

They're about £3 a pair on ebay pumps so I'd probably get some in case she has an over-zealous teacher who insists!

Asda are £3 or £3.50 too I think, as are M&S.

I prefer children NOT to wear pumps, mine only tend to do if they have verrucas.

My DD has the black daps for indoor PE and wears trainers for outdoors (including playtime). She's just starting year 6.

I think that bare feet are better myself - and I suspect that is what the teacher is aiming at. Just didn't want her to be left out if she is the only one without them.

DD2 has plimsolls / daps / pumps in her PE bag.

I think they only get used when they have outdoor PE on an unusual day or I forget to send her trainers in. (She has narrow feet and cheap ones don't fit. I'm not spending £30 on trainers to wear once a week for an hour).

I hates having bare feet for games so I always provided pumps/plimsoles. They're about 1.99 from a cheap place, so not really worth worrying about!. Mine always used them for things like going to the beach at the end of year, and then could be thrown away afterwards when they were too sandy, so they got their use out of them.

they are £1.99 from shoe zone, they are optional for indoor PE but worn for school plays in my DC's schools and outdoor PE in the summer so I would have to buy them at some point anyway.

I've stopped buying them as they don't fit DS and fall off during gym activities. He keeps trainers at school and uses those for all PE. School were OK with it as it was the reception class TA who told me that daps were falling off ( velcro straps don't stay done up over his high foot and he can't get into elastic ones at all.) and asking if we could come up with an alternative for him.
