We are making a move from Edinburgh to England in time for the start of the new school term due to my husbands job. Has anyone done a similar move? I just would love to know how the level of the children in both systems compare. The Scottish system has no reception year and children start Primary 1 after their 5th birthday. My eldest will go into Yr3 and my youngest into Reception. The biggest shock for my eldest is that he has to go to school on Friday afternoons when they currently finish at lunch time in Scotland!!
Any ideas from people who have made the switch would be fab. x
