Mathletics bronze certificates - Too much for a Y1?

DS is in year 1 and is 5 1/2 years old. His teacher sent out a note saying that anyone who achieved 3 or more bronze certificates in Mathletics would get a reward. She didn't tell us how they can achieve this so I googled it and found that they have to get 1000 points in a week which equates to 200 questions per week. Is this correct or does it depend on which year they are in?

That is correct, you get more points for doing activities on Mathletics than just doing live Mathletics, but since each game is only a minute long it's fab for kids.

You get 100 points for getting 10 questions right in the main activities and more points for the are you ready and test sections. DD has been doing mathletics since year 1 and 1000 points per week is a really achievable target taking between 12 and 40 minutes over a 7 day period. If you sign up for a parent account you get a lot more data on how they are doing etc.
Start by going into the activities and then choosing something easier and completing those tasks first to boost confidence.

Thanks for the info. DS gets fed up after 3 questions and then starts messing about which means it's not fun for him when I keep having to nag him to finish the rest of the questions. They were challenged to get at least 3 bronze certificates by 15th April and they would get a reward but I read that you can only get one per week so it's too late for him now unfortunately.
