Changing schools

Hi.
This may be a bit far off but I'm wondering if anyone can help regarding a change of school between England and Scotland.
We currently live in England and DS5 is in YR and DD3.10 is due to start YR in September (she's a May baby).

If we were to move back to Scotland after September would DS (a Feb baby so at scottish cut off point) start in P2 or would they want him to do P1 as the first years are slightly different? And if DD had started school here would she be able to start P1 even being only 4?

And would this be different if we move before Sept? DD having to wait a until Aug 2014 before starting.

Thanks for any advice

Thanks.
Think DD would be very disappointed if she didn't get to go to school this year. Any idea what would happen if she'd already started school down here?

Not sure where yet. Lived in Dundee up until a few years ago but no jobs there for DH but possibly for me, so maybe Fife somewhere stuck between Dundee & Edinburgh. But all early days yet.

Whole school thing with DD may be a factor although I'd love to go home Smile

She does that just now for 3.5 hrs but she's very excited about going to big school!

I'm not sure it would be right for all of us. For me - yes!
I was very much against they system when we first moved here but the kids are loving it and its a lovely small village school and I'm worried about finding the same up the road.

And the fact that there is only 15 months between them so having them two years apart at school just doesn't seem right - their abilities aren't that different. I know if we'd stayed in Scotland we would have defered DS but I'm not sure putting him into P1 would be good for him now either.
I know in a couple of years it would make no difference its just the here and now I'm worried about.

Unfortunatley he's in the Games industry.

We left over two years ago, but there is a good chance I could get my job back. Which doesn't pay as much as DH but I loved it and there is no chance of getting it down here.

The school thing worries me and DH would be kinda taking a step backwards but I would love it. Scotland has so much more going for it than down here and I'd like to be back for the vote.

(Feel like we're having our own little conversation here, but I appreciate you being my sounding board)

Thanks
