Dyslexia support tutor pulled 10 weeks before SATS!!!!!

So DS in Y6 has a 2 hrs tutition from dyslexia specialist and because of changes in funding provision from the LEA to school, school say he can't have it as they can't afford it from April 1st. The LEA say the school should have the budget to do so and so does my MP's officem but the school say no they don't. All buck passing responsibility shirking arseholes!

I am FURIOUS that they have made this decision, especially since I have a letter agreeing this tutor until the end of the 2013 school year but it's not legally binding apparently.

So I am telling school he's not sitting the SATS, they can shove their league tables and results quite frankly.

Fair enough. SATS are irrelevant anyway, I don't know why people get so uptight about them tbh.

As for the tuition, any chance you could pay for an hour a week if it's making any difference?

How awful for you and your son.

TBH in your situation, the SATS would be the last thing on my mind. I'd be focused on what type of support her secondary school were able to put in place come September.
