Moving to UK from Ireland, DD started school at 5

Our family is moving to Nottingham from Dublin this summer and I'm trying to find primary school places for 3 kids (breathe, don't panic, breathe!)

In Ireland if your child has a summer birthday you can choose to send them to school when they are 4 or when they're 5, and unsurprisingly a lot of parents wait until 5. Our eldest DD has her birthday in August and started when she was 5, she'll be 9 this summer. So if she was in England she would currently be in Year 4, but here she is in the equivalent of Year 3.

What will the schools have as criteria for her -- being with her age group, or by number of school years completed?

And please reassure me we will get school places, I've aslo got a DS going into Year 3 and a DD into Year1. Should I resign myself to the idea that they'll all go to 3 different, low-Ofsted score schools?

They'll do it on age group, definitely. But I suspect she'll adjust without too much of a problem.
