Does anyone know if there is a tablet that runs the games? Thanks. Ipad won't as it doesn't do Flashplayer.

If you download the puffin browser it should work.

This is how I got Oxford owl to work on the iPad.

It does crash occasionally and cost about £2 but if you search for a free trial you might get a 40 day one (I did).

Thank you Simpson. I am not very good with this technology stuff and I am not sure if Puffin will enable flash games like the BBC ones. Has anyone tried this or does anything else work?

I have the puffin browser on my Ipad. It works with flash. Flash is battery thursty thats I believe the principal reason its not on the Ipad by default.

Suede, I'd imagine that if you can understand the terms iPad, Flash and Puffin then you're a lot further on than a normal technophobe would ever be. Beyond that stage lots of the answers come from just "trying stuff out" and the more you try the more you learn.

I have just tried bite size and it worked ok.

If you go to the app store and type in puffin browser you will find it (but the free trial may not come up).

Hi there - can I just jump in and ask what a puffin browser on iPad is, please?

am totally ignorant and would live to use bbc bite size fully on iPad.

Thanks

On your IPad you go to the appstore (on mine its one of the little click on things on the left most front page when you turn the IPad on)

Search Puffin and it will show you all the Puffin apps available to download.

Select the Puffin web browser, you have to pay a couple of pounds to proceed to down load. It then takes a few minutes to install and appears as a puffin icon.

Click to use.

Just note that flash sites use more battery power so you may not get 10+ hours use out of your IPad if you use Puffin as your main browser.

Sorry didn't answer your question. Puffin in just a different bit of software for looking online via the IPad. The IPad has Safari as default, rather like windows systems tended to use Internet Explorer but Google and Firefox are also available.

Thanks for the replies. I am happy to try stuff out learnandsay but one of the reasons I would like to get an ipad is to use the bbcbitesize so I did need the security of knowing it works before I buy. I wonder why the apple staff didn't tell me this, if Puffin is an App browser? Basically they shrugged and said it wouldn't work!!
