Primary schools in Nunhead/Forest Hill/SE London: best ones?

We are planning to move from east London down to SE London - looking in East Dulwich/Nunhead/Peckham and then also Forest Hill/Brockley. But I'm trying to get a measure of the local primaries and where we'd be best off. We will have a DD going into Year 3 and a DS going into Year 1 (and a budget of 600K for a 3 bed house so are also limited by that!). Any suggestions or advice most welcome. I'm also aware that I ought to be thinking about secondaries too but quite frankly I can't quite face that yet ....

Try the local East Dulwich Forum which has lots of info on local schools.

Eliot Bank Sydenham/Forest Hill near Horniman. Superb school. Also in catchment for very good Sydenham School (girls) and Forest Hill Boys.

Hiya
I live in SE23 - lots of great schools around. In Nunhead friends are very happy at Ivydale. Around here at Stillness, Kilmorie, William of York (Catholic), Francesca Cabrini (Catholic but takes non-Catholics), as well as Eliot Bank as mentioned above. Fairlawn has a great reputation too. My two are at Dalmain, which we think is doing an excellent job with them. On the Secondary side friends are also very happy with Forest Hill Boys and Syd Girls.

We are looking at a house on Ivydale Road tomorrow ... Also great to hear that Forest Hill boys and Syd girls are good. Thank you!

SE15 resident here and just starting this process. Message from schools that we're seeing on SE15/5 borders is that you have to either live practically next door to the school or send your children to the nursery, or have a sibling already there. Competition for places is tough. So very important to visit the schools. That said our next door neighbour's children are at Lyndhurst in Camberwell and they're lovely kids and happy with the school. Dog Kennel hill school also very good and has 15 extra places this year.

Don't know Nunhead schools but in SE23 there's lots of great ones as mentioned - Fairlawn, Horniman, Stillness etc. But would reiterate need to live next door. The distances are shrinking every year and the 'catchments' are teeny tiny, seriously.

Does anyone know anything about Holy Trinity Primary school in Forest Hill?

Nunhead: Ivydale and Hollydale both good
Honor Oak: Fairlawn and St Francesca Cabrini are good
all of the primaries within that area are fine

If you move near Peckham Rye Park you'll have the option of the Harris Boys/Girl's School for Secondary (select on distance). Eastern Fringes of Nunhead/Telegraph Hill, option of Haberdasher's Askes for Secondary (but band and distance dependent but music may be an option if your child is musical)
