Dd is y5, she has ASD, a statement and is in a lovely inclusive school where she is doing exceptionally well. Dd is very fragile I suppose and doesn't take knocks very well presumably because of the ASD but also in part I suspect because I have cosseted her and she has had TA support since her entry into nursery and so has been protected from many of the knocks.
It only occurred to me that maybe she needs help to "toughen up" when her teacher said that she had cried a little when the whole class had to miss five minutes of PE and sit in silence for not listening to instructions. Dd later reported that the PE teacher had wasted ten minutes of her life (she an be over dramatic)
So it will soon be IEP review and I was thinking maybe something on there to address this would be a good idea so was wondering if anyone had any ideas or resources they could share.
Dd's teacher is great, her IEP's focus on her social and emotional well being as academically and behaviourally she is very strong so we work together on her IEPs with her TA who is lovely too (I know I am very fortunate)
