Primary schools in Little Chalfont

Hi there, we are considering moving to Little Chalfont but would only be in the catchment of the new e-act academy on Bell Lane (formerly Bell Lane combined school). Does anyone know how it is currently going in its new academy format?
Many thanks in advance for replies.

If you look on the DfE website, it's clear that last year (before it became an academy) it received 2.5x times as much money per child than most other schools in Bucks - with only 9 teachers. Shock

The DfE data on it make it out to be a very low attaining school. 83% achieving Level 3 or below in wiritng and not a single soul achieving a Level 5 in anything is pretty bad. I expect academy status has been forced.

I don't know anything about the forced academy conversion process but I know schools fear it and (for better or worse) this will be a school under serious pressure to improve.

The school is sponsored by e-act. Executive Principal is also head teacher at Amersham School which has improved considerably under her leadership. Admissions are increasing and I have heard that there is now a waiting list in certain years. I think this is the start of something exciting.

We are thinking of moving to Little Chalfont, this is also the nearest school to the property we like. I called the academy today (formerly Bell Lane) and she said that nursery and reception share a class, Y1 and Y2 share a class as to 3&4 and then years 5 & 6. She was very friendly but did not seem to know how the classes were taught when I asked her how they teach two different year groups in one class.

I am hoping to call Bucks CC tomorrow and they should know more.

Will let you know what I learn.
