Is there anybody out there who has studied or is studying for an AMI Montessori Dipmoa at the Maria Montessori Institute in Kensington, London? I am looking at applying there.

Did you have a university degree when you started the course?

Thank you! :)

You could call their nursery in Powis Sq W10 as I recall one staff member had done the course. She was very nice to talk to.

Thanks very much. Do you think I could call and ask if I could talk to a member of staff about their experience with the course, or do you think this is too forward?

I would - the worst they can say is no. They are not at all helpful at the Hampstead headquarter and so call the w10 branch directly. The person I spoke to was very passionate about her work and was happy to tell me about her qualifications.

Out of interest, are you currently working in a montessori and would you recommend it?

I started training there years and years ago. I didn't finish the course. I was working full time in a non related job and the course was very intensive I just couldn't fit the studying in. Probably a good thing as I'm not sure I am suited to being a kindergarten teacher.

Good luck. They have a good reputation.

All the very best with your course and hope you get the advice you need.

@spwills - this thread is very old (!) but wondering if you did the training? I am considering it at the moment, too! (I posted a new thread about it, but haven’t had much response.)
