I would love to hear views on this subject. I don't allow my pre-teens or teens to have mixed sleep overs, but it seems that these are the 'norm' in my area.

Maybe it depends what you mean by a mixed sleepover? DD is 11 & one of her bfs is a boy. I don't have any problem for him coming for a sleepover or her going there. I'd put girls in one room, boys in another for actual sleeping. TBH at this age it is all so supervised that I can't imagine any problems beyond noise and excessive chocolate eating
