At the weekend we were at the shops and I was in one of the department stores as I needed to buy some skincare bits for myself. The consultants were on lunch so only the Clinique consultant was available.
Dd had been complaining since we got to the shops that her face was sore, and when I look her skin was so dry it was flaky. So I asked the Clinique consultant if she would mind if we used a little of the moisturizer tester to use on her face.
The consultant didn't mind and applied the Clinique moisturizer to her face and lip balm, and I have to admit that dd's skin was just glowing afterwards.
I actually did buy the lipbalm for myself as it is so lovely
But then the consultant was pushing me to buy the skincare range for dd, the bar of soap for washing and the day cream, about 50 pounds for the two . I said as much as I appreciated her help with dd that I couldn't really justify spending that amount on skincare products for an 11 year old.... She then said that she has lots of 11 and 12 year old customers as their mothers use Clinique as so have started their daughters with it straight from the start...
So, are 11 and 12 year old girls really starting out their skincare regime with expensive brands like Clinique? Dd has a teenager range that she uses, a facewash and a moisturizer when I get at a pharmacy (she forgot to use it that morning).
