Dd1 started periods. I picked up my HRT patches on the same day.

Bitter-sweet moment - on lots of levels! We went and 'celebrated' - just me and her - with a meal. I didn't mention my menopause. Guess I thought she had enough to process.

Hi Roma

Just wanted to say I know how you feel. I've just been confirmed as post-menopausal. DD hasn't started hers yet, but is firmly in the "pre-teen" phase (age 11). It's only the two of us in our house, and it can be a hormone minefield some days.

Were you early into menopause? I was told I was in menopause on my 36th birthday. That was a fun day! I've been on HRT for 2 months now and I feel tons better.

I'm 50 this year so I guess not. Still, I I was breastfeeding 7 years ago (had my 2nd dd at 42). Still feel young -ish (at heart). It's just the coincidence I guess. That thing where you're pleased they're growing up but it means you're ageing too. Still, am quite pleased that I've done with periods. And I feel sorry that dd1 now has that in a way (a transition from childhood).. but pleased as well that she's maturing into a teenager.
