Where's the best place to get ears pierced?

My ten year old wants her ears pierced, which I'm happy with. We have a proper body piercing place in town, and my older dd wants a non-lobe piercing done, so I was thinking I would just take them both there together. But apparently this place won't pierce under 14s, so I was just wondering where else would be good? Are Claire's generally ok?

Sorry, have no idea. Just wanted to bump for you. When i was younger hairdressers used to do it but I only know of Claire's now.

I have boys so haven't been asked about pierced ears yet. Grin

My daughter got her ears pierced at Claire's about a year ago and had no trouble with them at all. Cannot remember exact price I paid but it wasn't too bad as got nice earrings in.

I got a 2nd set of holes put in about 12yrs ago now by Claire's and again I didn't have any problems. With the first set I got pierced my mum took me to the salon within house of Fraser, I remember the lady being really nice but no major difference to Claire's really but price wise Claire's peob loads cheaper

Noooo, don't go to Claire's or anywhere else they use a gun, it's brutal.

Much better for ears to be pierced with a fine sterile needle done by a trained piercer who knows what they are doing.

I know all the piercing purists say that Dancergirl, but the vast majority of people get their ear lobes pierced with a gun with no problem. For anything else, no, I wouldn't want a gun. Even the proper piercing place I mentioned uses a gun for earlobes, or you can pay extra for a needle - but if they won't pierce under 14s, I don't see that I even have a choice.

My daughter's 9-year-old friend had her ears pierced at Claire's a few months ago and it seemed fine.

I had the same question last summer. I ended up taking my dd to a beauty spa place. They used a gun but were very clean and she was in a private room instead of full window display in Claire's. we did not have any problems with them.

Went to Claire's today, the girl was really nice, drew dots on dd's ears so we were all happy about the position, lots of explanation of how to look after them, and it was nigh on painless. One extremely happy ten year old Smile

My three year old had hers pierced at Claire's over the Easter holidays and loved it. Claire's will, for a slight extra charge, pierce both ears at the same time. A major advantage as my older daughters friend went around for 18 months with only one ear pierced due to refusing to let them do the second one! Have only ever seen ear loves pierced with a "gun" (looks more like a stapler to me!)

be sure that your daughter is up to caring for the piercings; turning, cleaning etc. Otherwise the earrings come out, the holes heal and you've wasted your money.

seen it...

there may be a good reason why the professionals are refusing her.
