Just flipped my lid with 10 yo and 6 yo DS's about shitty attitude at bedtime, they were both going on and on and on being so rude, flippant & cheeky, been a long day of attitude especially from the older one just annoying on purpose, just won't stop, younger one copies, older one thinks its all so funny and winding me up is so funny and he can go on and on all he likes, so just screeched "get into bed now now now now now" so now my neck and throat hurt. Please tell me I am not the only one to go ballastic once in a while!

My throat hurts after I've "spoken to" the Dc2 quite often Blush

You aren't the only one. Mine goes to bed then, inevitably gets up and tells us the telly is too loud. She can spend a good three or four minutes explaining why she shouldn't be in bed so early and how she'd really like to watch whatever it is we are looking at.
She drives me dotty.

Rest your voice for a few days so you'll be ready for the next round. Wine very good for sore throats.

No your not the only one, although I rarely bother shouting bed.

Just you'll regret it in the morning if you don't turn your light out, but my preteen is the younger one. You can't just let bed time drift for a 6y.

I'm forever shouting "just do it!" In response to preteen eye rolling at simple requests.

We've got twin 12yrs old DS here, and I have given uo on bed time, as its a battle we were raging every night, DH still gets frustrated, but we have now decided that as long as they are ipstairs by 9pm, we are no longer going to sweat it. My whole well-being has improved since we decided this 3 weeks ago,
Trouble is, you have the 6yr old copying his behaviour. Can you not stagger the bedtimes, so younger DS is already settled asleep begore the battle with elder brother begins.

Thanks all, the younger one does all he can to stay awake to big brother is in bed, fights it like hell, if we waited it would be 11pm, I think I will just try to be calmer - ha ha. I just completely cleaner, hoover and cleared out his room, fresh new bedding, got rid of crap etc - hopefully this will set a better tone - ha ha.
