10yr old DD says her vagina 'hurts'

My 10yr old daughter told me last night her vagina hurt. She described it as having a headache in that area. She says it's not itching. She is quite well developed for her age with public hair, breasts and discharge. I'm not sure whether this could be thrush or the start of her periods. She is really against going to the doctor so thought I would try and figure out what it could be before subjecting her to that.

I was developed by that age too OP. she probably is talking about a full ache that you can get there sometimes, as long as there's no blood, strange discharge or severe abdominal pain, don't worry about her. She may be near to experiencing her first period soon though do make sure she is educated/prepared about it and all should go well :)

I get a weird sprt of achey pain down there when I have my period I read it described on here as "feeling like your fanjo's been hit with a cricket bat" which made me laugh and us about right so it's probably hormonal.

I ache down there before a period so it might be. Get her checked out if you're not sure.
