AIBU...is it not just a wee bit OTT for the local vicar to come into preschool class to tell the Easter Story in full graphic detail...I quote my DD(3.5) 'and the bad ones took jesus and put nails in his hands and they were all blood everywhere and put him on the wooden thing and he died. then he came back alive again on easter' Is it just me or is that far too graphic and scary a story for 3.5 and 4 year olds?

no, I felt the same at the sunday school and she was similar age last year. I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to think its all about chocolate eggs but I would censor her from a book/film etc with that content so why would I be happy about it from a sunday school teacher. her class was only for pre-school, they would have been happy sticking feathers to egg boxes and painting eggs

Exactly what I thought. I think might speak to the head, although the damage is already done i suppose. Thanks dizzy

this happened at our local church in the sunday school, wasn't the minister but the sunday school teacher and I felt I really couldn't say anything as everyone else was sitting there happily letting their kids take it all in

tbh I wasn't best pleased but didn't want to be seen to be making a fuss or belittling the meaning behind easter, I just felt it was better suited to the youth group from age 5yrs up and not the preschool

I told my children (4 and 5 year olds) the Easter story and a little later another member of staff called me over and asked what I had told the children. She then asked one of my boys to tell me the story he had told her. His version (which I absolutely deny any knowledge of ~
"The monsters caught Jesus and chopped his arms off then put him in a cage" now where did he get those ideas?
