Too Young at 2.5 to start Pre-School?

The preschool my DD has her name down for takes in the wee ones in Jan or Sep. In Jan she will just be 2.5, in the Sep 3.2. All of her little friends will start in Jan when they are 2.6. I know its a personal thing and also depends when she is dry but has anyone sent their little one off at 2.5? If so, how many sessions per week?

I'm starting DS2 in April. He will be 2.6 and will do one morning session a week. I am prepared for the fact he might not be ready and am happy to take him out if it's too soon.

Ds started two sessions (9-12) at 2.5, he was more than ready and loved it. It was a small nursery though with lots of time for cuddles and one to one.

Yes, sure it is dependent on the nursery. This particular one has 3 classrooms, one big for the little ones who are very confident and 2 others for the younger ones who need a bit more support. And you're right, I can always take her out if it doesnt work out. Thank you.

My elder two both started two mornings per week just after their second birthdays. They loved it (and so did I!) but were exhausted at lunchtimes for the first term or so.

Two sessions would be the minimum, IMO, and I think they ought to be on consecutive days. The LOs need the constancy to be able to get used to it.

No, not two mornings - der! - they went for 3 mornings each week.
