Funding for Pre-school

DD goes to a fantastic nursery. I pay extra for her to do 3 full days, but there have been some queries about the bill. Should the teacher include ;lunch times in the allotted hours? I feel that they should not be included - i would happily pay separately for them.
TIA

hi, how old is your dd? if she is 3 0r 4 and gets her government funded place i would expect the nursery to charge for the hours around them eg. say she goes 8.30 - 4.30. 5 of those hours would be pre-paid so i would probably expect to pay for 3 hours, however as funding is available for 12.5 hours a week overall in this example you would pay for 11hours. im also not sure if all nurseries allow it to be worked out like this, nursery my dd goes to is either morning sessions OR afternoon sessions (each session lasting 2.5hours), we cant mix and match. does that make sense at all? it did in my head!

12.5 hours a week is the nursery grant allowance and this needs to be claimed on 5 separate days for 2.5 hr sessions. This is in effect from the first full school term after your child's 3rd birthday.

On any one day you should only get 2.5 hrs free.

One exception: If your child is in a nursery which is part of a pilot scheme to extend government funded places to 3hrs a day.
