Kindermusik- Didn't like it- Should I give it another chance?

I took my 10 month old to a Kindermusik class today- the first of five trial sessions that we signed up for. I'm wondering if I need to give it more time before I decide that it's not for us. I have tried several music classes and groups, and thought K'musik would be ideal because it has a 'curriculum' of sorts and would grow with my DD. (The class we really like is held on a day that I work) However I found the first session really, really uninspiring. The songs were really flat, the only instrument we used were bells, and most of the other babies in the class were all five months younger than my daughter.(The idea is that this group then goes on to form a class- and unfortunately there aren't any other classes with babies the same age) When I spoke to the teacher about the age difference, she said "Oh, there's not much difference between them, is there!" But, my child wanted to crawl and climb and shout while the others couldn't even sit up. DD seemed restless and bored.

Anyone with experience of Kindermusik- what do you think? I'm tempted not to go back! Should I give it another go or try to get my money back now?

We do Kindermusik and love it, however we have done it from Our Time onwards (our time is 18mth - 3 years). We did a one session trial in the Village baby class at another location and wasn't impressed.

To be honest I think the quality of the class hugely relies on the talent of the teacher.

I'd say give it another trial when your little one is old enough for the more active Our Time class.

I went for about 6 weeks with ds when he was about 2 I think.

I wasn't impressed tbh.

A load of crap you can easily do at home at that age.Get the socialising other ways,[park,m&t groups]

Never tried it but took dd to Jo Jingles for a long time and can't praise it enough - absolutely fab, but then it depends on who's running the local class I suppose.

Yeah, not to bad-mouth it, but I felt that it was all too quiet and slow moving for DD. I've been to a few music things around here- one which is run by a couple of crazy musicians- and tbh I thought that if I'm going to pay for this kind of thing at her age, I want her to get excited and have a blast. The sessions run by the musicians had loads of instruments and songs and sounds, and had everyone moving around loads. They played drums, guitar and accordion... DD paid attention for the entire 45 minutes. At K'musik she was irritable and bored- and the only music aside from our voices came from a CD player. Guess I'll have to wait until next term and see if those musicians are running their sessions again!!
