your child should go to pre-school for more than one session?

The reason i ask is that my daughter (who will be 5 in sept and starts school in sept too) started at her pre-school last April when she was 3y7m. She also goes to a geat nursery for two full days on a tues & wed when i work.

She started the local pre-school as we thought it would help her meet more local children who hopefully she would be going to school with. She started doing just one session as thats all they had on a Fri morning but since last sept has done a thurs am too as they say they like them to do at least 2 sessions. As she is due to start school this year she now has to change from a thursday am to a pm where she will have lunch there and do PE, this is to help prepare for school, apparently.

Dh & I are not really happy with the pre-school, they are quite cold and not always very discreet when discussing fees and bits and i find there attitudes quite bad..and their communication terrible, they def have their favs...BUT dd has now made a great little friend there who she sees on the thurs and they are both going to be doing the pm sesssion now too.

If she hadn't made this friend we would poss not take her any more as she gets very tired and doesn't always want to go. Ideally i would like to drop the fri morning and she just goes on a thurs pm when her friend is there. (her little friend only goes on the thurs as the pre-school couldn't get her a place).

Its her first day back there tomorrow and i haven't even received the fee letter yet which i know they will want paid by the end of the week.

Can any of you see why she couldn't just go on a thurs pm? If they want notice we would do the 6 week period and then change her days. I get nervous talking to them (which sounds daft i know, they can be v patronising and the manager even called me a young mum once..i am 32 lol!)

Just wondering what your thoughts are..sorry for the waffle lol!

I can't think of any reason she couldn't do just the Thursday.

Thanks..i will be brave and broach the subject tomorrow..eek! The only thing i have seen about hours or notice is we have to give 6 weeks notice if we want them to leave..nothing about just changing days. ideally i'd like it to happen from this week but we shall see. DD is just so tired and she has fun at nursery and sometimes i wonder if i did the right thing by her starting at the pre-school...but as i said, she has met a lovely girl there so hopefully something good has happened there..just hope they don't get funny with me..wish me luck!
