My son is about to sit 5+ Asessments for for Habadashers. Can anyone help with questions to expect and if there are more things I need to be doing to prepare him. I am freaking out. I have a list but would appreciate some help. If you also have past questions or anyoone whose son has actually sat for and passed these assessments I aould love to hear from you.

Sorry - all I can say is - are you sure you want to do this - it sounds hideous. Is there time to change your mind?

Sorry again -I'm no help at all.

Notsuper - try not to worry about it - your ds will pick up on any anxiety.

I don't know about Habs but another prep nearby has a policy of asking parents how they 'discipline' their child amongst obviously lots of other questions.

Good luck.

Just curious, what's on the list that they gave you?

I registered ds for Habs but I think it is just too far a drive for prep so we prob won't go there.

Sassa - really just don't worry about it for now. You can't possibly prepare him aged 1. There is nothing you should be doing beyond enjoying him.

I am closer to the assessment stage for another school, not Habs, and I want to be aware of what they will do and try and get ds used to the kind of questions they ask but won't go beyond that.

They are so little try not to worry too much.

when my daughter was assessed (in feb last year) she went inside the room and came out about 45 minutes later (she was 3 yrs 3 months) - this was for nursery attached to the primary school i wanted her to attend (will give her automatic place in reception)

when she came out, i asked her - what did they ask you? what did you do?

she said they all went to the park, went on the monkey bars and chased some pink dogs. But they had to be careful because there were some buffalos around.

To this day (a year later) i have no idea what happened in there. But am sure it's not what she said.

Oh, and she got in.

chill...................
