Question about jigsaws

What is the average age for a child to do a 100 piece jigsaw?
DD surpised me this afternoon by completing a 100 piece jigsaw with any help at all. She was given it for her birthday but I thought it was too hard so put it away, she found it today and insisted on doing it. She did it in 25mins.
The reason I am surprised is that the box said 6yrs+ on it- this cant be right.

Thank you.

DD is 6 and can do them but can't remember when. Not long though, maybe a bout 6 months.

That sounds very impressive

dd could do 100 piece by 4. I've always thought the labels a bit misleading tbh.

Ds2 is three and has no trouble with a 59 piece puzzle. He loves them. We've bought him a 70 piece for Christmas and it probably won't take him long to master it. His older siblings had no real interest in puzzles until they were about 5-6 though. How old is your dd?

My ds was also very quick at jigsaws. He used to 100 piece ones btween 3.5 and 4. He used to do the 2+ at about 18 mths. DD is now 4 and only now enjoys doing a jigsaw and she can do one with up to 60 pieces. It does depend on size of pieces and type of picture too.

Thank you for your replies, that was very quick!
OK- now I am even more shocked from your replies, DD is a little over 2.5 years old. She is currently doing the same jigsaw again!
I presume this means her problem solving abilities are good.
Thank you again for your quick replies.

My DD was like your DD ,Leapinglemur. She burnt her hand at 2.3 yrs and could only use one hand and became obsessed with puzzles and went from doing 2 piece ones to 5yr plus puzzles within a few weeks. This lasted for a few months and I was searching all the charity shops to get her more puzzles. But she then seemed to lose interest.
She is 10 now and very good at Non Verbal Reasoning and is going to to a workshop for g&t maths on Friday.

My DD is 4.1 and she enjoys doing about 100 - 150 piece ones. She has been doing 100 pieces since she was 3.5. She has found the jump to 150 pieces quite difficult mind!
