how much to contribute to pre-school snacktime

i pay £4.50 each for a pre-school session for my twin girls and I also have to send something today for a contribution towards their snacktime.
just wondering what everybody else pays for snacktime as i have no idea what to send! Is £2-3 enough or should I send more? Bearing in mind that one of my girls never eats the snack and one of them occasionally eats it (but i guess this doesn't matter?!)

At the pre-school we used, the children took their own snacks, but at the school nursery (and reception class) the charge is 80p per week.

Can you just ask another parent what they do?
We have to take fruit in every week.

We have to take in fruit every Monday, but that's it.

At the playgroup where I am chair we have just started charging 25p a session (collected for the whole term), any surplus will pay for food for end of term parties. We used to have fruit bought in by parents but there were issues with lack of variety and waste.
£4.50 sounds really cheap for a pre school session.

snacktime is 50p a week at ds nursery school. Although we dont have to pay for session. When we did pay for playgroup the snack cost was included in the £2.50 per hour fee.
