We have found that when we put the details in the newsletters, we usually ask if anyone wants a craft stall and that often generates a couple of "aunties" who bake cakes or make things!

Also try to visit another craft fair and casually mention to the stall holders about your event and ask them for business cards and you can ring them later to invite them.

Oooh yes, stall selling decadent cakes so mum's can egg each other on to buy them...

mum 1) oooh those look good
mum 2) shall we have a slice?
mum 1) I shouldn't, I'm on weightwatchers...
mum 2) oh, go on, you can go to the gym in the morning, we deserve a treat after all this christmas shopping
mum 1 (who needs no persuasion and knows for a fact that she will not be going to the gym in the morning) Oh go on then, twist my rubbery arm...

both mums tuck into large slices of chocolate fudge cake...
Guess which mum I am....ahem....

Our main attraction was a strange german woman doing a colour analysis. From what i could make out everyone is a season and you should wear colours to complement that. Totally confusing but it seemed to go down well.

we also had:-

Body shop
virgin vie
partylite
handmade jewellery
handbags
a local lady who makes decorative wreaths
chocoholics
cake stall
refreshments
locally made organic soap

it'd be good if you could find a local seller of traidcraft goods...some churches sell them. lovely fairly traded gifts, jewellery, cards etc.

sounds lovely

I was going to day traidcraft or other fairtrade business.

We love having local businesses in too..

..what about Phoenix cards, there's usually a mum or dad about who runs that
