ggirl, buddy!

I'm intermittently visiting between swotting up (currently refreshing memory on the 72 page document 'Sessional Day Care - guidance to national standards' zzzzzzzz

So, can you remember what they asked you when you had a suitable person interview?

right-

First thing she asked was for my marriage cert which I had to scramble around upstairs for (interview was held in my house).

By the time I got back she had seen numerous wine bottles inrack and a few empties from weekend.
First question was ,what would you do if a member of staff turned up to work drunk?

She had me tagged as a pisshead.

Anyway most of the questions were straight forward, erm lets see if I can remember ...

what do you (as a nursery) do if a new policy comes out?

meaning do you have a policy to deal with new policies....wtf

what would you do if a parent complained about a member of staff?

How do you monitor things to make sure the nursery is functioning well and up to date?

major bullshitting about checking toys, regular chats with parents blahblahblah

what about staff sickness how do you cope if someone off sick??

How do you know the parents are happy with your nursery?

where do you keep policy/procedure book?

are they all up to date and signed?

will think of some more, back in a mo

Ah,

well interview is at the Pre-School so hopefully won't need marriage cert!

Oops I know we have a Policies and Procedures book and it is pretty much bang up to date with some new policies in there, but I am not sure where it is kept - must check before 10.30 tomorrow

I have a competent Play Leader so tend to 'trust' her to get on with it - hence I don't know in detail what we do if someone calls in sick...because it's dealt with without referral to me

Think I am going to get a big grade F tomorrow!

No don't worry I am exactly the same, the day to day running os done by the supervisor and the staff.I basically am crap .

I think you are supposed to have a copy of policy book, but am not sure.

I was hoping to fail the damn thing, would've been a good way to get out of being chair. The woman was very helpful and was almost giving me the answers in the end.

Put on your best bullshitting face, say you and the playleader are in constant cahoots and liase about absolutely everything...what a bloody farce is all is!

We are having our AGM this friday and I am resigning yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Am now getting my knickers in a twist about voting slips(do I need to get some printed...damn my printers fucked),agm agenda ...help.

Will be so glad to be rid of all this.In fact I may bring this up at the agm ,the fact that they rely on a volunteer group who don't really know what they're doing to run the thing.Stupid way to do thing imo.But don't know of they have an alternative.

lol basically I am crap too - but as far as Pre-School are concerned, beggars can't be choosers and I was the only sucker willing volunteer for Chair.

Very pleased for you that you are resigning!
