Have you already chosen the school, and are coming up with the stuff you forgot to ask?

1- depends on the preschool- at ours we didn't bother just ddin't take Lo in.

2. Totally up to you as there is no statutory requirement for them to attend.

3. ratio- not sure
4. reports back once a term in parents evening at the school preschool group and also a written one I think but at the one dd used to go to which wasn't at the school there were no reports at all.

5. Days out- none from the school playgroup apart for the end of year school trip which parents have to attend.

The other playgroup- the Welsh version of the playgroup association one used to take them out all the time

A lot of these depend on the particular pre school involved - they will have terms and conditions, which should be written down for you to read and agree to. But there is no legal requirement for a child to be at school til the term they turn 5, so holidays in term time aren't a problem. Ditto deciding that it would be more fun to go to the park with mummy, if that's what you mean by point 5!

Why don't you ask when you drop her off?

Our we had to phone in on first day of sickness.

If you want someone else to collect your LO, ring in and tell them. If it might be a regular thing, put in writing who you will permit to collect your child.

Do they say grace before they have a snack? This might be either a positive or a negative depending on your point of view - but it's useful to know before your dc suddenly starts intoning prayers before she tackles her toasted cheese at home(and expecting everyone else to do the same!)

  1. Sickness...phone on the day before school starts
2)Holidays - in writing to let them know
  2. Ratio - 1:5 and on days out 1:3
  3. Reports back to me daily verbally
  4. Days out - there is Xmas day out and also theres a Zoo day out too
  5. The policy for someone else collecting is that i must ring on the day to give a name, if not they wont let go of my DD

Her teacher had said that "She was a STAR" as she mixed in well and did all the things, played well and had never asked once for you. Charming..im forgotton already!!!!
