Toilet-trained to go to playgroup?

DS1 will be going in January, the plan is for five mornings a week. He'll be 2.9. He is showing NO sign of being ready at all for potty training.

Do they take them at playgroup if they aren't in pants?

Not sure. Ds has just started, and they didnt ask if he was toilet trained, and it's not in the policy.

I don't think they can legally insist on this as it's a form of discrimation. I could be wrong though.

At our playgroup they take children from the age of 2 so obviously they will be in nappies. Nursery schools (where children tend to go from the age of 3) tend to need them to be in pants (round here anyway).

Yes you are right Kittypickl, children should not be refused on the basis of whether they are in nappies or not as it is seen as a form of discrimination.

round here they need to be in pull ups!!! Just swap the nappy for the pull ups then.

They cannot legally deny yr child a place if they r still in nappies, even at a school nursery they have to accept a child even if in nappies. There is a special policy that the education council have brought out. hope this helps

Why pull-ups over nappies? That puzzles me - they're the same thing with a different fastener, surely? Doesn't make the contents differ...!

saint hunker - nio idea but it kept playgroup happy!! Something about 'developmen' so I just went with it!

sometimes at playschool they may want to use the toilet like the other children and its much easier to pull up a pull up than struggle with the fasteners on a nappy...
