Preschool education

Which pre-school? or no pre-school?

I have 4 DC's, 2 at school (year 3 and year 1) 1.5 miles away, a very lively 3 year old and a 10 month old with severe SN/health issues. I can't drive. DC in year 1 uses a wheelchair for anything more than a 5 min walk but hates wheelchair so try and do shopping, appointments etc when he's at school.

My 3 year old is now entitled to his funded 15 hours but I don't know which one if any to send him to.

  1. Private nursery 20 minutes walk away from home in opposite direction to school. Looks lovely and on a farm but preschool room has a stone floor which seems quite dangerous to me. DS3 is incredibly accident prone.

  2. pre-school with outstanding Ofsted 30 mins walk away from school but hours are the same as school so would need to be in 2 places at once.

  3. pre-school 15 mins walk away from school. Don't know anything about it other than location as nothing is available online and nobody I know has sent their children there. Need to go and see it but DS4's appointments keep getting in the way.

  4. 3 preschools 25 mins walk from school. Been to see all 3, DH didn't like 1, I didn't like another one and neither of us liked the 3rd.

Or we could send him nowhere which is what we are doing at the moment. I'm worried he will miss out by not going to preschool. He goes to toddler groups but he is the oldest by a long way now because most children start preschool full time from the age of 2.

    WWYD?

Don't suppose there is a pre school attached to the school the other kids are at? I'm assuming not, as otherwise it would be on the list....
I think I'd go for convenience and reasonable rather than anything else.
Any one else at school with a 3 yr old sibling? Where do they go?
|Any other parents who could share the school run with ie big kids all go in one direction with one parent, and little kids go to preschool in the other direction with the other parent?

Thanks. No preschool attached to the school unfortunately. Most younger siblings go to one of the preschools in option 4. The preschools hours are quite long so there is time for parents to get from the school to the preschool. I'm swaying towards option 3 but not taking up the full 15 hours.
