Nursery Fees

Hi just a quick question. My child attends a nursery (preschool) she gets her free 15 hours, however the nursery have allowed me to join her 15 hours so that she can attend one full day? I just have to pay for the dinner time hour which is £8.95. Which is fine, I have been paying the £8.95 for some weeks now by standing order, which it comes out my bank every friday into theirs, my child does her full day on a friday too so I thought I would pay it on that day. I have just received a bill asking me to pay a months in advance, which again its fine as I know that they do normally ask for this, but they have included the weeks she is not it, she only does term time, and I know other parents only pay term time at this nursery, and they have stated on my bill that if I am not paying by direct debit and paying by standing ordering they are charging me 2%, why is this? Can they do this? I thought it would of just been the same as direct debit as it's going straight into their account?

This is a bit baffling... But

A) you need to follow up with them on the term time thing, could just be a mistake.

B) a direct debit is different from a standing order because they can control the amount... They can request different amounts using a dd. Whereas a standing order can only be changed by you. But why they'd charge you more for this I have no idea.

I do something with my nursery for my 3 year old and they are always making mistakes. There is a fair chance that the charging for charging for school holidays is just a mistake. I also pay a whole month up front - so I paid for April some time near the beginning of march. They don't add a percentage for not paying by direct debits but it is my understanding that they have the right to, just like insurance and power providers often do.

Now Days Pre School is playing an Important role in Child Education. there are many schools who take a big fee for pre school students some parents can afford it but many of them can;t afford it there fore they but there children to a medium level schools.
