EYFS training question

Can anyone tell me if there are any good distance learning courses. I have taught KS1 for many years and am interested in setting up a pre school.

Hi Bronte,

Do you have QTS, then? If so, you don't need to do any further training to teach EY, though starting a pre-school is a whole different game! Are you working full-time? Could you possibly volunteer one day a week in a pre-school/nursery setting to see how things operate? Or work one day as a supply/bank nursery nurse? Or supply in nurseries?

I know you can take 'working with children' type courses online, but to be honest, I'm really not sure how useful they are, especially in your circumstances. I'm unconvinced how much you can learn about actually working WITH children, as opposed to ABOUT them e.g. child development etc via distance learning.
