I don't often post as I'm a shy f*ker too scared!
dd turns 3 in june, so we have been looking into pre schiool/nursery places for sept term for the 15 hrs funding. Theres 2 that we me are choosing between (the 3rd is very popular, have name down, but don' think well get a place as only moved here xmas).
The first is literally across the road, bigger, more outside space, running since sixties (obv under different managers).
The second is further away (about 15/20 min walk away), smaller, less outdoor space, kids have to walk through a very cramped kitchen space to get outside.
BUT... I'm we am dithering because the one thats closer seemed more clinical, I felt like I was intruding, the staff werent as approachable.
The second, the staff were alot more open and friendly, let her join in with snack time and alot more 'cuddlier'with the children.
My daughter had a massive tantrum at each one on leaving, and there were differences in the way staff reacted.
First, no interaction, although I understand that they have kids in their care to deal with (but tbh, it didnt seem they were doing much with them other than ttelling them to tidy up)
Second, were fab and really helped me to calm her down and get her out the building.
I think I've already decided, its just that after a day of snowing heavily today, and that from posts on here saying kids should be out a pushchair by 3, makes me query them (and the difference in space outdoors) my daughter is not the most fabulous at walking somewhere, and we have to climb stairs to get to our flat.
what d'ya reckon
