Anyone had a premmie then gone on to have twins?

My DS was born at 31+6 and I've just found out I'm expecting twins!!

My first son wasnt premature and I had no problems conceiving etc. However, when I decided I wanted another, it took 4 years to get pregnant after a barrage of tests which found nothing wrong! I had just about given up hope when hey presto!! My identical twin boys will be 6 next month. Good Luck!

No but it's big fear of mine, Ds 1 born at 29 weeks, I keep thinking that if I had twins they'd come at about 24, and it really scares me! No plans to have any more now that we have DS2 though.

Hope someone has been in that situation before though and can help. Did you have any reason for the prem birth, if not then there may not be a problem, either way you'll be very closely monitored I should think!

I think carrying twins may be easier if it is your second pregnancy as everything has already been stretched!The risks of carrying twins vary according to the type of twins.My twins were ID and high risk. I had complications and my consultant thought I may not reach 30 weeks. In the end I was induced at 37 weeks! I would suggest you ask the consultant at your next appt.
