Has anyone else had a prem birth due to HELLP?

I did last year, was just wondering if anyone else did and what your experiences were? I found it quite hard to get answers at first, it was a couple of months before I saw the consultant to properly discuss. I had never heard of anyone having it before I was diagnosed.

Hi. Had hellp 4 years ago with ds1. And delivered at 33 weeks. Now on pregnancy 2 at 31 weeks . Saw a prof at st Thomas' hospital London who specialises in it as am freakishly scared of getting it again but seems to be going well so far. Baby small but bp doing fine. They are monitoring me VERY closely!

I had it with dd and had her at 32 weeks. I was closely monitored the second time and all was well.

I had severe PE & HELLP at 28 weeks, plus a related condition called Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation. DS had to be delivered by EMCS at 29 weeks - he weighed only 720g/ 1lb 9oz & spent 3 months in NICU. It's very rare to get HELLP twice.

In my 2nd pregnancy I was on 75mg aspirin from BFP & had fortnightly growth scans & weekly BP checks from 24 weeks. I attended the consultant's high risk clinic. My BP remained fine, DD's growth was fine etc, but my consultant always said to me: you may not get PE again, but you will get something & you'll not see your term date.

True enough, I had DD at 35+6 as I had low amniotic fluid (sign of a crappy placenta!).

Am not contemplating a 3rd pregnancy!
