I'm 34 weeks pregnant and am due to start my maternity leave a week on saturday. I'm struggling with the commute and my boss has suggested that I leave a week early and get myself signed off sick with general pregnancy ailments. They can't force my maternity leave early unless it's after 36 weeks, as I understand it.
I'm due to see the midwife on Wednesday this week - can she sign me off or do I need to see the doctor? Has anyone done this before?
Any advice or experience would be gratefully received...
