Thanks. Not due till April but started getting stuff as and when we see it cheap - got some nappies that were reduced because bag was opened etc to save some money. Going to start packing hospital bag soon just so I have somewhere to put it all and it doesn't get lost!

Have written a rough list - there is just so much!

What sort of size pack though? I have a huggies pack that is a lot smaller (as in less nappies) than the Pampers pack I got this morning?

Think they are called carry packs for Pampers, they are about A4 size and have a handle at the top. Can't rem how many nappies they have in but should tide you over.

PS they do have some on post natal wards if you run out..

they are the packs of 24, I'm taking one, if you have to stay in longer than thought someone can always nip home/to the shop for you to buy some more! Most hospital shops stock newborn size nappies too

that's what i'm stuggling with! pretty sure i remember being 'given' them straight after birth and was out within 6 hours last time so i'm thinking probably 1 pack but maybe 2 if you feel you might be in longer....

do i also need breast pads/disposable knickers?? I just can't remember anything

Def breast pads
But I didn't like disposable knicks so I went to primark bought cheap packet of big kidney warmers as my nannie calls them

My rule for maternity pads is to think of the number you think you would need - then double it. And leave the exact product and place to buy it written down at home so your dh can go buy more without making a fuss!

If your waters have already broken when you go into hostpital, what ever number you first thought of, X by 10.

Took a pack, but had to stay in 3 days and the trolley they had A on had piles of wipes and nappies and mat pads underneath, so used none.

Out of all the stuff I took, I used 2 huge clean T-shirts, 1 long stretchy skirt, 1 towel, and 4 pairs of MrNC's old briefs, and loads of food. And about 4 vests + sleepsuits for A.

It was so hot I didn't bother with clothes mostly.

1 pack of newborn nappies

2 packs of disposable knickers (I'm a fan!)

I bought a pack of 24 newborn sized nappies. Can always send Dh out if you need more.

A whole pack can be a bit bulky for the baby bag, so you could just pack 6 nappies out of the pack and put the rest in a bag in your partners car so that they can easily get them for you when they visit.

DH doesn't have a car!

Babybaby - you would really only take 1 nappy? I take more than that to pop to the shops with DD!

Yes I needed LOADS of maternity pads. Seriously, at least 2 packs a day for the first week or so.

Nappies - Take a small pack of 24ish, I used Tesco NB nappies they were better than any other brand and much cheaper!

Maternity pads - Again a pack from Tesco.

Knickers - A pack of 3 Bridget pants from Asda, DP got me more when I needed.

I took a Huggies change bag plus a drawstring gym bag in with me and that lasted me 5 days I had to get a section.
