hi, I am quite confused really. I did a clearblue test on saturday just gone which was negative. I was only doing it to make sure hormones were back to normal. Anyway the test was a twin pack and I had a dream about being pregnant on Tuesday night so when I woke up I did the other test yesterday morning. It was positive. Since I have done another 4 tests all of which are positive. Does this mean it is a new pregnancy? I am really worried as the doctor told me to wait at least one cycle before trying again. I also had a mc with twins last July. I don't know what to think so any help or advice would be good.

I am not sure if it will help tbh but I will tell you what happened to me.

Lost a pregnancy, had a period 5 weeks later, conceived straight after.

With the m/c, my blood results weren't doing what they were meant to do. Eventually after + tests I got a negative.

Conceived.

Baby born.

Potantially I conceived a single baby and twins (not sure which way around) and lost 2 of them. After CO treatment it was thought that my baby was a month overdue but he is now fine.

I would say it is a new pregnancy as you had negative tests.

Congratulations.

Do you really think I could be pregnant again that quickly? It seems to soon I am in shock and think I will have to keep doing tests over next few days.

I had a miscarriage on 28th dec 2007. Four and a half weeks later I had a positive test result. I'm now holding three month old ds in my arms. It can happen straight after a miscarriage. Go to your GP to confirm.

Yes it's very possible, and it does sound to me that you are pregnant, but you should go to your GP to confirm.

I had had two miscarriages, so this pregnancy was very nervewrecking, but you get through it somehow.

I had a mmc (erpc) then a positive hpt 6 weeks later (after 3 weeks of negative hpts).

It is very possible. I had a mc at 7 weeks at the beginning of Aug then conceived again straight away without a period. It wasn't intentional, but we weren't aware about the waiting one cycle advice. However, my GP and midwives have reassured me that this is quite common and there are no health risks to you or any future baby as a result.

I'm now 25 weeks and everything is going really well. I would advise asking for an early scan to reassure you. Congratulations.

Hi Lizzie,

Just wanted to add my experience...

I had an MC on 1st August last year and conceived again the middle of September, 6 weeks after MC.

I am now nearly 21 weeks pregnant. I decided that the first MC was just my body getting ready for this one!!

Good luck hun.

xx

I had exactly the same experience as you - even down to the dates which is spooky. Mid Dec after a pos test I had an early mc. Am pretty sure I conceived again around 3rd Jan and on 10th Sept dd1 was born.

I had a mc in the middle of Nov 07, short period start of dec and got a positive pg test on 30th Dec 2007. DD is now 4 months and asleep upstairs. The only reason they say to wait one cycle is to help get the dates right (I think). I was a nervous wreck until the pregnancy was well and truly 'stuck' though. Congrats .

It happened to me. I mc on 3rd April, didn't do another test or anything but 5 weeks later I hadn't had a period and still felt 'odd' so did a test then that was positive, went for a scan about a week later and was 5-6 weeks pregnant.
Baby is due in 2 weeks.
Good luck, take it easy and try to stay relaxed.

littleboyblue - did you get an early scan then because of the situation? did they do it to work out your dates?

Well because I hadn't done a test to get a negative result, it was my 3rd mc, we were also on holiday at the time so didn't go to docs or anything until a few days later because there wasn't any pain other than what I expected, I didn't have the mc confirmed by anyone other than myself. A few family members have been carrying multiple and lost 1 so they agreed to a scan to check if it was a new pregnancy or whether there was a twin that had survived, they then scanned again a week later to find the heartbeat

oh right well I have already had scans to show that my womb went back to normal after the mc so I probably wouldn't have an early scan. I have 3 children but have also had 3 mc of which the last two pregnancies were mc.

You could still ask gp to refer you. I had 2 mc, then when I fell pregnant with ds I told the gp how scared i was that it'd happen again and pretty much broke down, she agreed that it would be beneficial to my mental well being to have a scan at 7 weeks to check for the heart beat. After going full term, I was more relaxed with nect one so didn't ask for a scan, but with this one I was back to panic stations.
I'd at the least think about speaking to your gp about how you feel and how you expect to get through to the 12 week scan and see what s/he says

hi lizzie - I had a mc and got pregnant almost straight away. dd2 is now 4.6 and very healthy.

Go and see your GP and explain that you are worried about this pgy and ask to be referred to an EPU. It shouldn't be a problem with your history.

I think you can also go to your local EPU without a referral.

congratulations ladylush! thats really good news , were you on the July thread before? I did another test today clearblue digital with the conception thing. It said pregnant and that I conceived 2-3 weeks ago which would make me 4-5 weeks pregnant. Sadly I don't live in London and there is no walk in epu near me. Have to be referred. So not sure what step to take next might have to see my doctor and see if I could go for an early scan.

Yes. A very close friend had a m/c and got a positive test 4 weeks later, with no period in between. Very odd. But the living proof is now a gorgeous 3 yr old girl
