Did one this morning, bout 9.30,"pregnant" clear as owt on the little screen.

Been out dying for a wee, thought i would do the other one...to see how many weeks...."not pregnant"

WTF?????

Early days, HCG (pg hormone) will be highest in first wee of the morning.
Second wee, the HCG level will be lower.

If you want convincing, do it again tomorrow with first wee!

You are pg, congratulations

do another

im pretty sure you cant get a false positive though

The ones that tell you how pregnant you are, are not very sensitive, but I'd have still expected it to show positive if your period is due today. They started showing 1-2 weeks on the screen for me four-five days before my period was due.

Do another test is what I'd advise.

you might not have had enough HcG In your urine for an accurate second test, esp if you are not yet late.

can;t really get a false positive.

tentative congratulations from me

wait unitl tomorrow morning to do another test

could be your second wee was too dilute

try not to test again until tomorrow morning with first wee

I'd buy a first response non digital test and try again, but afaik false positives don't happen as they can't detect something that isn't there but can fail to detect something that is!!

tentative congratulations from me as well

Go and buy a double pack, take one tomorrow and save the other one for a week or so when you start doubting yourself

Don't have soft cheese, raw egg or wine in the meantime.... (or whatever the current rules are)

ok,ok, you are right.
will do.

fingers crossed, its the 1st hurdle amongst many hurdles for me. Just to get a positive is just AMAZING.

Yeah - defo pregnant, you can't get a false positive, false negatives are easy tho, especially when you've only just missed a period, your HCG levels will bearly register at this point so other than 1st wee of the day its likely to be negative! If you do one with a line as the result you would probably see a reeeaaally faint line!!
Congratulations - just found out I'm pg too xx

Sounds like a positive! Congratulations! I've noticed some of the tests are more sensitive than others - they say on the box what is the minimum mmols (or something) it will pick up. Perhaps the first one was more sensitive.

you should leave 4 hours between testing if you are testing early, also do not drink tto much.

Congratulations.

I used the pregnancy conception test as part of the mumsnet trial. I used it when I already knew I was pregnant.

This is going to be TMI but it might help explain what is happening to you. I forgot to wee on it first thing in the morning so ended up weeing on it about half an hour after my first wee of the day. My wee was obviously so dilute that it didn't show up as anything at all - it looked like the test had not worked. I think these conception indicator tests must have to have a certain level of concentration before they work properly. FWIW, I weed on it the next day first thing in the morning and it worked fine! Definitely do another one.

Congrats - the cramping is your uterus expanding, very similar to period pains. It is impossible (I think) to get a flase positive. Look after yourself and well done!

False +ves are not at all likely.

Remember the first one I did with DD, not enough wee to get up to the second line so I ran it under the tap, and it was +ve. Spent a day or so pondering the levels of HCG in tapwater, then got another test!

BTW, I've never spent more than £2.99 on a test!

I hate to be a party pooper and hope this is not the case for you but this happend to me last december.

I got pregnant with cbd, i had a twin pack and did the other test following day it came up not pregnant.

I was not pregnant its such a cruel blow. I dont like the digital tests at all.

It may be too early for you i hope try testing again with differnt brands.

Im now 27 weeks pregnant and got my positive with a cheap tesco test!

Just to add i contacted clearblue and they told me that false positive can occur and you may be suffering from ovarian cyst which can give false results as well as other rare medical conditions!! And they said it is advised on the leaflet, that i dont know for sure as i had chucked the leaflet but thats what there response was.

You can get NHS test strips off eBay (along wth OV strips), 25 of each for a few quid. Great for manic testers like me!
