Question about cervical incompetence - any advice appreciated!

Am seeing the Consultant about this this afternoon, and wanted to gather up as much mumsnet wisdom as possible!
Am currently 12 weeks pregnant with no.4. When pregnant with no.3 I requested cervical scans as I had had 2 previous LLETZ and consultant who did them suggested monitoring in any future pregnancy. The scans were carried at at my insistence, no-one seemed remotely concerned, but I was worried about what I had been told. All was well, no shortening etc.
Since then I have had a d&c after a mmc in July, and for that reason have requested an appointment with consultant to be monitored again.
Just wondering what people think. Am I being overly cautious? Before the mmc and d&c I wasn't going to have any monitoring as there had been no problems last time. Would also like to have midwife-led care this time (not an option if having multiple scans) and also got very anxious about scans last time as said consultant always found some sort of 'soft marker' (non-cervix related) to obsess over that seemed to have disappeared by the next scan
Sorry for the ramble, but am rather anxious about this!

Could you have a consultant led pregnancy with a midwife led delivery ?

Its difficult to know what to do to the best isnt it. Are you worried about the dilation aspect of the D&C affecting your cervix or just because of the lletzs ?

If your cervix was fine during your last pregnancy then i should think the chances are it will be this time too habe just ask for one scan for reassurance ?

Thanks WORZSEL - it's kind of you to reply with what you're going through. How are you feeling today?
Yes, it's the d&c that has really made me think about monitoring this time, although wouldn't be worried if hadn't had previous LLETZ (wondering if things sort of 'add up??) It was at 10 weeks and fetus had died at 7, so don't think a massive amount of dilation was needed, and had pessary before, but need to at least verbalise it this afternoon. I have to say unless I get the top man, the other consultants tend to be pretty useless, and I'd get better advice on here!

I'm ok today thanks, sat on the sofa eating cheese and crackers watching shite TV.. i am going to be so much fatter unfit by the end of all this !

When i had my last erpc in feb i asked about it wrecking my cervix even more and they told me that that was what the pessary was for, that it sofened it so much that there was no really 'forcing' involved, My baby then had died at 8w so probably about the same size too.

I hope my tales of woe havent made you worry about your own cervix even more i think i have been exeptionally unlucky really.

Shite tv sounds good!
No, you haven't worried me at all with your experience! It's really the mmc I think that has made me super anxious. Also, the pessary was only actually in for 10 minutes as a free slot (on labout ward ) came up so of course obsessing that it wasn't really there long enough to do any dilation.
And of course I can predict the glassy looks that my 'anxieties' will create from consultant!

Good, Phew !

Better to voice your concerns than worry in silence though eh, we all know how these little things have a horrid habit of becoming massive irrational fears that eat away at your soul.. (or something like that !) better to get some glassy looks then spend the next 6 months worrying.

Well it went OK. Consultant was sure that a 10 week d&c wouldn't cause any additional problems as dilation wouldn't be significant at that stage. Still, he's asked me to come back at 22 weeks to measure cervix so don't think he can be too concerned. He's promised to just look at cervix too, unless 20 week scan throws up any problems (I've never had a 20 week scan that hasn't found some soft marker to be honest - always turning out to be non-consequential!).
If you are around Worzsel hoping you're feeling ok today, and thanks for all your support
