If I had a NORMAL bloody cycle I wouldn't have fallen pregnant at all!

Day 9 with Dd I think. Which was why I thought I was safe!

Ds...no idea as my cycles were wild!

Yep, Day 11. I was charting my temps that cycle and I knew it was Day 11, not day 14. Which didn't tie in with the little wheel that the GP used to work out my due date, but I KNEW and at the dating scan it confirmed what I already knew! smug emoticon

First was day 13 or 14, second don't know as I wasn't having a regular cycle because of breastfeeding, but do know the exact date and I think it was roughly around the day 14 mark. They were weekends when we weren't together in the week and spent a lot of time together at the weekend. My cycle (when not pregnant or breastfeeding, which hasn't been for about 4 years lol) is fairly accurate

Ovulating on day 14 is not the norm at all - it is an average.
I have been pg 3 times, and the third time got pg on day 26.

13 both times, day 14 is the aim if you are having a regular 28 days cycle, which not everyone does.

storkycake · 09/12/2008 08:29

21 days, 19 days, 19 days and 12 days, but I only know this from charting which is extremely useful if you have no other fertility issues.

Day 14 with both ds's, I am Mrs Average Ovulation Lady that you read about in books

I know pretty much when I ovulated for each of them CDs 18, 13, 16, 14, 18. I'm happy for them to use LMP dates since I have sections & it gets them out a few days earlier.

You don't usually 'conceive' on the day you have sex though do you. I had sex 3 days before I ovulated, so had sex on day 6 which should have been safe for me during my regular 28 day cycle...

day 10 with the current bump
so clue with ds. when i went in for my booking appointment i couldn't even tell them when my last period was even though it was only about weeks previous.

It's not true that everyone ovulates on day 14, nor that a luteal phase is always 2 weeks. I was ovulating on CD 16 - 18 of a 24 day cycle for a while.

No, I know beanie, but my point was about not conceiving on the same day you have sex...

Report
bellabelly · 09/12/2008 09:49

Depends doesn't it - for some people it WILL be the same day because they'll aslo ovulate on that day. For other people the sperm will be hanging around waiting for the egg to emerge...

Report
joyfuleyes · 09/12/2008 10:13

an egg is only viable for a maximum of 24 hours after it is released so conception will occur within 24 hours of ovulation (most start to break down after 12 hours so conception & ovulation are pretty closely timed).
