Nice smellies?

My DH wants to get me some nice smellies for Christmas. Can anyone recommend anything they really like that's safe to use in pregnancy and not tested on animals (and not have animal ingredients in, ideally)? Was thinking of Origins ginger stuff. Smelt some the other day and it was gorgeous. Is it mainly just essential oils themselves we have to be careful of, rather than products containing a small amount of them??

Sorry, I keep banging on about this but I'm a bit concerned about it.

Yes its just the pure oils that you need to be careful of as they are highly concentrated and some of them might cause a problem - like lavender essential oil. I don't think that any actual products need to be avoided.

weleda? they are animal friendly and more importantly don't contain any nasty chemicals. a lot of lush stuff is OK.

bear in mind that many of the commonly used chemicals in body care products are absorbed by you and the baby, and are found in breastmilk, e.g. parabens. So safe products is not just about essential oils.. same goes for your household cleaning products etc.

there is a database of which chemicals are in which products, I think it's called safe cosmetics database or something!

We have really nice Cariad Mum to-be Bath Milk & Mum to-be Oil at www.sprogbox.co.uk. It's my website, so I am biased, but I am also 21 wks pg and very fussy about what we sell! The oil is particularly lovely for a tummy rub.
