Hush your mouth lulu. I will be induced at 40+5 (Monday) if no joy by then, so I need to cling onto the hope that one at 40+2 will work.

Nope. No sign whatsoever of imminent labour . Got m/w to have a rummage on Monday though, and she said that my cervix is slightly posterior, soft, long, partially effaced and external is open but internal closed. Which I think means not exactly favourable, but not unfavourable either.

I guess your m/w could at least assess you tomorrow sambrads and see if you're looking hopeful.

I was 16 days late with DS - the community MW did a sweep a couple of days before my due date but it felt like she was having a little tickle up there.

I then had another sweep at 14 days OD (at the hospital's day assesment unit)as they had no bed for me to be induced (and I was convinced DS was going to come out when he was ready) This time I really felt something going on - very unconfortable almost to the point of too uncomfortable but it did bring on a "show" and when I finally got my bed the next lunchtime to be induced, i was already 4cm.

I didnt want to be induced & was prepared to wait - didnt trust my dates but none would listen. I hadnt even reached the desperate "gotta give birth" stage, also DS was still covered in vernix & I measured small for dates throughout my pregnancy,

I would reccomend a sweep, but only if your think Little One is ready - if they are not, it wont make a difference, but if you have a feeling they are only a few days away from their grand enterance, it will give them that nudge they need!
