got negative when 7 days and 15 days late. seen my doctor when took lo for an ear infection and queried missing period.

she said not to book an appointment till done another test when 4 weeks late.

sureley if i was pg it would have shown by 15 days late.

i asked if i would need an appointment as i had colposcopy treatment a few month ago and dont get all clear from that till dec.worried it might be that if not pg making my period disappear.

so... has anyone had a pg that showed on tests any later than 15 days

I had this with first pg, tested negative at cd 44 from memory, it was only at cd 50+ when I tested again as a gp appt that it came back positive.

hi.
i think cd is calendar day...a in day 21 of a 28 day cycle....type of thing!!

i did 8 neg tests when i was pg with my 2nd child...i have no idea what was going on...no period but no positive test either....

i eventually got a positive about 3 weeks late, but when going for what i then thought to be my 12 week scan..i was only 8 weeks!

the body is a funny old thing....i hope you get the result you're after very soon!

My sister had the same thing with her DD2 (now nearly four) she did about ten but was convinced she was pregnant - she did one at docs and it cam back positive but I think she was nearly 7 weeks by then.

I think if you ovulate very late in your cycle, it can take a while for the right hormones to build up to show you're pregnant. I'm 17 wks pregnant & had to do 5 tests over a few weeks to get a BFP. Like mellyonion turned up for 12 week scan & found out I was only 10 weeks....

not too sure about the whole pg test thing but my friend didnt find out she was pregnant until about 9 weeks as all tests came back negative from docs and home brought, even her first blood hormone level check thingy came back negative as she kept being ill periods had stopped but all tests were showing negative until she was checked out at a hospital. hth x

My pregnancy didnt sure up till around the 4 test, which was about 3 weeks after the first.

My cycles are long (about 5weeks+) and I dont think it was a coincidence that ds was 16 days late!

I think too much emphasise is put on all pregnancies being 40 weeks which is based on a 28 day cycle & they do not adjust this! Also pregnancy is worked out from the date of your last period & not conception date

You could have concieved late in the month - this too makes a difference. If you have long cycles & concieved late in the month (as I think we did) allthough you would technically be 4weeks pregnant when you miss your period, bean would only be a few days old

I think this is why sometimes tests sure a false negative as pregnancy is too early for the test to pick up the pregnancy hormones that make the line blue.

I am not a doctor or anything, but spent weeks online avoiding being induced and picked up a few bits of wisdom on the way. (I was still induced However)

It does happen, my mum and my sister both got negative tests while pregnant. My mum did not know until 3 months pregnant, only confirmed by doctor examination, tests all negative! My sister was 4 months pregnant before she got it confirmed that she was indeed pregnant (she did not ov late either). It is just that some women sometimes do not produce enough hcg to show up in the urine tests.

The thing with pregnancy tests is that if they show a positive: then you are pregnant (or entering menopause!). But if they are negative, it is not possible to say that you are definitely not pregnant. However it is very unusual for this to happen.

Hope you get an answer soon!

As i have an illegal cycle when i have tested (i have only tested to prove that i'm not pg) and got a pos test i have been at least 10 weeks gone.

This time i knew when had sex and then 3 days later my AF arrived so it didn't occur to me that i might be pg. it was only when i feinted i thought that strange i haven't feinted since i pg with dd1 so i did a test and my face looked like this and again i was 10/11 weeks gone, Esp as it had taken 2yrs plus to get pg with dd1 & 2.
