Experienced exactly the same thing last night (am 26 weeks) - really painful and woke me up every time I rolled over. Hope someone can reassure us it's nothing serious!!

it could be ligament pain - one or more ligaments that are holding the uterus getting very stretched or possibly and more unlikely your appendix? Do you still have yours??

Im the same. Often get stich like pain towards bottom RH side of bump. Im nearly 30 wks, had it on and off for ages so havent really worried about it, I think its ligament pain too. If its not one bloody thing its another!!

Nobody told me being pregnant would be so painful!! At least, not til the dramatic ending... Had that horrible rib flare thing since 19 weeks and now this. Don't think it's appendix, thank gawd - too high up, must be the stretchy ligament thing.

Not to scare you all but epigastric (upper abdomen) pain can be a symptom of pre-eclampsia, particularly if it's on the right side (located over your liver). It can feel like very bad heartburn without acid reflux, or severe trapped wind that isn't easily alleviated, or just a pain that doens't really go away and gradually increases.

I had this with DS, before any other symptoms of PE (such as the classic raised blood pressure, protein in urine etc.) showed, and within a week I was very poorly.

Please if this pain persists do ask to be checked over by your midwife.

For more info on it see: www.preeclampsia.org/symptoms.asp#pain
