Going abroad at 9wks pg - not booked in - problem?

I am going on holiday to the Greek Islands in a few weeks and will be 9 wks pg when I go. I tried last week to get an appointment to book in with the midwife but they've nothing available until after my holiday. I will be 11wks by the time I get back and my GPs surgery are concerned that I won't be able to get a scan at 12wks unless I am booked in before 10wks - they have tried to get me an appointment but the midwives aren't responding to their calls. To be honest, I'm not overly concerned if my dating scan is late since I am sure of my dates and this isn't my first baby so I'm not too bothered about seeing a midwife just yet.

But I am worried about going abroad without any antenatal notes just in case anything happens when we're away. Am I right to be concerned? And can my GP book me in, or do I have to see a midwife?

I really wouldn't worry out your lack of notes as long as you can communicate your situation it will be fine.

Also unless you have had previous pg complications, you are unlikely to be scanned before 9 wks, which would need to be organised via your GP to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit.

Congratulations and enjoy your holiday!

If you're not bothered about the dating scan, then it is not an issue. Regarding anything happening while you're away, I doubt there would much in the first antenatal notes which would add to the situation or enlighten the doctors treating you tbh.

In short, I don't think you should be too concerned. Enjoy your holiday
