Can anyone tell me whether its normal for sickness in pregnancy to be only in evening and to come and go? Last 4 days feel awful for hour or so then fine then bad again. Or is this a virus? Not been sick just nausea...

Sickness/nausea at any time of day in pg is fairly "normal". For some women it is worse if you are tired, hence you suffer more in the evenings.

If you are able to tolerate food try and eat small amounts very regularly - especially if you eat early in the evening, you may well need a snack by later on.

morning sickness for me started at 4.5 weeks. According to "the books" it is fairly common from around 6 weeks to 12/13 weeks. However some of us suffer from much earlier on and it can continue for a lot of the pregnancy.

It varies a lot from woman to woman. Your midwife will be able to reassure you more.

bekka how far along are you? Congrats btw.

Hope we are not scaring you. I had quite a difficult time with ms, for lots of women it is more manageable. You will always get support on here though.

What's wrong with this one?

You can easily start another one, the only way (afaik) you can stop people adding more posts onto this one is ask MNHQ to delete it. Not sure if you have to give them a reason? To report your own thread or post click on one of the red ! on the line where your name comes up.

My mum always reckoned she felt sick ages before her period was due.

Are you counting the 3 1/2 weeks from the first day of your last period? It is a common mistake to count from when you may have conceived, if you do that then if you are pg you may be "further along" than you thought.

The test will obviously put your mind at rest one way or the other. Hope all works out for you.

bekka - the best thing about mnet imo is we don't know who you are! So it really doesn't matter what you say or whether anyone tuts. It's safe to say what you want!

Some women have very similar pregnancies in terms of symptoms, sickness etc. Others have massively different experiences from one pg to another. Sometimes the baby is a different gender, other times that is just how it happens.

If it is a virus you will soon feel better, if you are pg then it sounds as if you will find out for definite soon enough.
