Passive smoking and pregnancy

I feel so guilty - I'm seven weeks and have just walked out of my Mum's house because of her smoking.

I popped in today with the intention of staying for a cuppa, and phoned her to warn her I was going, but when I got there she'd just lit up! I walked straight out again making an excuse.

I always hated the smell anyway but at the moment I just find it completely repulsive - though that's nothing compared to how neurotic I feel about the harm breathing in the smoke will do to the baby.

Supposed to be going to a surprise birthday house party tonight but am thinking of not going because I am sure people will be smoking indoors.

Am I being over neurotic here? Nobody smokes in my house, so is the time I spend in the company of smokers really going to do any harm?
