Re: Car seat query - Maxi Cosi and Ford Focus?

Hi

Can anyone offer any advice or experience with the above? After extensive research I have decided I would like to buy the Maxi Cosi Isofix base + infant carrier. I have an 56 plate focus which has isofix. Can you tell me is this a good fit? I have heard that some carseats are a better fit than others and I don't seem to be able to find out if this combo will suit the Focus. Also, can anyone tell me if the maxi cosi base can continue to be used as the carseat gets replaced with the bigger size?

Thanks

Yes - provided you requested isofix fitted when you bought it? My Focus (56 plate) bought new required my to request factory installation.
The Maxi-Cosi seats are top-rated by Which.
No you cannot use the Cabriofix base for the next stage seat (Priorifix). The Cabrio clicks on and off the base so you can use it as an infant carrier. The Priori is a single unit that basically goes and stays in the car.

The car did not have isofix fitted as standard but it has now been installed. Thanks for your informative reply - very helpful indeed.

You're welcome - I think they are great seats.

If your still not sure maybe search for a car seat center. Im in essex and there is a car seat center that basically has every car seat available, they will try out any car seat in your car to make sure it is the perfect fit, the service is free and at the end of it they give you a list of where to buy the car seat from. Not sure if any other areas have a service like this?
